Export Controls and Sanctions

Missouri University of Science and Technology (S&T) endorses the principles of freedom of inquiry and open exchange of knowledge and is committed to compliance with export control regulations.

The export of certain “technologies”, “software”, and “commodities” is regulated and controlled by federal law for reasons of national security, foreign policy, competitive trade reasons, and preventing the spread of weapons of mass destruction.

S&T Administration as well as all researchers have the burden of knowing what information is export controlled during the course of collaborative research, understanding the limitations of exclusions such as fundamental research, and understanding what activities might be export controlled.
